We arrived tired, stressed and in desperate need of a break, and left wondering whether we could realistically move into the pod permanently. Our stay at The Nest at Point Lonsdale was one of the most relaxing and thoughtfully put-together accommodation experiences we’ve had. From the moment we booked, communication through Host on the Coast was exceptional. Pat was incredibly responsive, accommodating and helpful, including assisting us with changes and additional nights. Everything was handled quickly, professionally and with genuine warmth. One detail that really stood out was the attention to detail before we had even arrived. On the day of check-in, we were contacted to confirm our expected arrival time so that the gourmet hamper we had ordered could be prepared as fresh as possible. It was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the entire stay. On arrival, we were welcomed by Angela and Pete, who took the time to show us around, explain the spa and make sure we had everything we needed. It was a lovely personal touch that immediately made us feel at home. The pod itself is beautifully designed, private and incredibly comfortable. Every detail has clearly been considered. The robes, premium toiletries, quality furnishings and little finishing touches all contributed to a feeling of genuine luxury without ever feeling overdone. One of my favourite details was the tea selection. Rather than a handful of generic tea bags, there was a beautifully curated range including English Breakfast, Lady Grey, peppermint and herbal teas, thoughtfully presented alongside breakfast provisions and snacks. It sounds like a small thing, but it’s exactly the sort of attention to detail that made the entire stay feel special. The private spa was an absolute highlight. Spending the evening soaking in the hot tub overlooking the landscape with a glass of sparkling wine was pure bliss and probably the most relaxed I’ve felt in a very long time. We also arranged a gourmet hamper and sparkling wine package for a birthday celebration, and both were beautifully presented and well worth adding to the experience. Yes, this is a premium stay, but in our opinion it was worth every cent. What you’re paying for isn’t just the accommodation itself — it’s the care, attention to detail and the opportunity to completely switch off and unwind. Thank you to Pat, Angela, Pete and the team for helping create such a memorable birthday getaway. We left feeling genuinely rested, spoiled and already talking about when we can come back. Cannot fault this lovely getaway. Perfect romantic getaway with thoughtful and quality touches. We stayed 3 x nights with breakfast provided for 2 x mornings (perfect), enough snacks for 3, crockery & cutlery needed for a wonderful getaway (including cheese knives and boards which are often forgotten.) Quality shower gels, shampoo and conditioner. I loved the little pillow spray to aid a restful night. Robes and towels were excellent quality and we each had a new pair of slip on slippers to wear. Pretty much everything you would expect from such a lovely place. Communication from owners was excellent with clear explanation of the checking in process. Peta checked in with me several times during our stay to ensure all was ok. Highly recommend if you want a quiet and relaxing break away from the world.
